Yes it has been a while since you've received any emails about the MUG group. Things have been very busy all around. We have a total now of 108 members and growing!
I would like to announce that our website is going through a very good revamp. It should be completed by next week. Some of you have already noticed the big changes.
Here is a little bit of Max news:
New 3ds max 6 Service Pack 1 includes a number of fixes for 3ds max 6, including XRef, Network Rendering and mental ray revisions, as well as a fix for edited Normals to properly collapse to a Mesh or Poly object.
See the Discreet website for more information.
Coming soon: File Link Extension, exclusive to Subscription Members.
Now let's get down to a little bit of business. This is going to be a great year for 3ds max and our Max User Group! We plan to have more member meetings and fun events. Our online website is going to be in good use this year especially with the Gallery section. Users will be able to upload their images they've created with Max directly to our website! Also, we are going to have a REAL TIME contest at our next meeting which is still TBD. So stand by for a fun time and sharpN up your Max skills! I will be sending out an email blast to our members about the next meeting soon, also with contest details!
Something that has been a bit of a struggle and is now starting to work and grow. The online forum that we are using has been getting really good use. If you have not visited the forum please do. Thanks to all of the people that have been posting their images and Work N Progress. If you are local to MN and need quick answerers, make sure you post them! Our local 3dsmax questions will be very different from the post on a forum located in CA. So having a great group to post questions and get feedback is great! For our members outside the MN or US area please register and use the forum to make yourself a part of the group since you can not make the meetings.
Again, like we've stressed last year with this group is the FACT that we have now over 100 members and only 20 members registered to the forum. This will have to change otherwise there will be some changes to the group.
