VTM on Max to ZBrush and Back  -new!

     Welcome!

This Mug VTM on Max to ZBrush and Back is for the sole purpose of  showing the user the basics of exporting a mesh from Max using the OBJ format for use in ZBrush. It does not cover the awesome array of tools that ZBrush has to offer is not concerned with the actual modification/deformation of the mesh. It's primary goal is to instruct and fast track the new ZBrush user to transferring your low poly Max mesh into ZB,  navigation basics, the steps taken to export the modified mesh and displacement maps out of ZB, and back into Max. It does not cover using displacement maps in max. Details of this procedure can be found in the ZBrush Practical guide and on the ZBrush Forum.

  Notes:

Some things that could cause some confusion if you don't know about them.

1:  If you want to save your scene, you need to save the deformed ZB mesh in the tools pop up as either
a .ztl (which is what I recommend) or as an .obj in the same pop up. Saving the scene in the document menu
will turn the mesh into 2.5 D and you will not be able to continue working on the mesh in 3 D.

2:  Divide your mesh before you hide any piece of it, other wise it won't divide properly . You can see this
because it facets, instead of smoothing it.

3:  Bring the Z Intensity down to about 10 and work over the model in stages, building it up slowly.

4:  Divide the mesh once then add detail, when you can't add any more because the mesh isn't
subdivided enough, add 1 more level and work in more and keep going till you have enough or run out
       of memory.

   Happy ZBrushing!
